Outlook Festival Announces 2014 Artists

It’s January and the winter blues have got us day dreaming of the summer to come and summers past (all of you that prefer winter are just weird). For the Rhyme On Beat crew summer 2013 ended on the Croatian coast in the grounds of a fort that is hundreds of years old enjoying the sunshine and listening to great music; that place was Outlook Festival. With highlights such as Yasiin Bey (Mos Def), Grandmaster Flash, Joey Bada$$, High Focus Records and Pharoahe Monch it was a musical experience that we’ll never forget; you can read our extensive review here. The crew is going to be putting together the best sound systems around alongside some our favourite acts across various genres for the seventh year in September 2014.

Outlook Festival is a celebration of soundsystem culture, exploring the musical genealogy that connects Jamaican roots music to its modern-day counterparts, through heavyweight soundsystems, in a friendly, warm and inspiring peninsular, sea-side location. There are over 400 acts playing in and around the 150 year old Fort Punta Christo, a 1km stretch of beach, and a world of intimate boat parties” – Outlook Festival

Outlook Festival have just announced their first installment of artists that will hit the various stages in and around Fort Punta Christo and once again they have gone all out and pleasantly surprised us with the ability to pull in some of the biggest musical names. From a hip hop culture perspective the likes of Busta Rhymes, DJ Premier, Bishop Nehru, Jonwayne and the whole High Focus Records crew will be there. Accompanying the both artists will also be legendary names such as Horace Andy, Barrington Levy, Andy C and Goldie amongst a whole lot more, check out all the names announced so far below alongside a great video to get you excited for the late summer shenanigans.
