It’s been almost 20 years since Blak Twang recorded his debut album Dettwork SouthEast but as reported by us recently, it got its long-awaited release yesterday on Sony Music and very rapidly the vinyl option sold out on Amazon and hit their worldwide hip hop top 10. The album had already reached cult status among fans after many years of bootlegging following a very limited release to journalists. The album is out now digitally at all good online retailers and on vinyl and CD on Amazon and Suspect Packages. Just before the album dropped, the “original south London trooper” invited us to his home and had an in-depth discussion covering his early musical influences, what he now thinks of Dettwork SouthEast, musical projects in the pipeline and what he thinks Arsenal’s chances are this season. Watch the in-depth interview with Mr Tony Rotton himself and also keep an eye out for our photographs from the launch party that turned out to be a great success. It was evening with a lot of love in London’s Jazz Cafe in Camden with special guests Jehst, Seanie T, DJ Sarah Love, DJ Big Ted and even DJ Harry Love picked up the microphone as the hype man.
