Fliptrix – Praise The Sun feat. Rag N Bone Man

The ever impressive Fliptrix is a man that does not disappoint. Since founding High Focus Records in 2010, his music and also the label has gone from strength to strength and that trajectory appears to be continuing as we head towards the release of his fifth studio album Polyhymnia. The first single was the powerful Vultures and he has now followed it up with Praise The Sun featuring the beautiful voice of Rag N Bone Man, the production talents of Molotov as well as Jazz T providing the cuts.. Praise The Sun is a message of appreciation; a homage to the star that gives our planet life. Considering that the little sunshine we see on our UK shores, we’re very fond of it when it does show its face and the video illustrates this relationship perfectly. Illustrated and directed by the very talented Sam Cox, we follow some sort of creature as it re-ignites the sun and thus injects the world with colour again. It sounds trippy, and in some ways it is, but all in all it is a lovely tribute to the summertime that we’re just about to leave behind.

The animation consists of over 1,800 hand drawn frames that have then been scanned and individually coloured digitally. These are then processed and placed together to create a smooth animation. The end result is a 3 and half-minute animation that took over 2,000 hours to create.” – Sam Cox
