ARTEMIS UK Hip Hop Documentary

Artemis in ancient Greek mythology was the daughter of Zeus. In terms of the UK hip hop scene, ARTEMIS is a documentary focussing on nine female rappers from our shores and explores why there is not more of a female presence in the genre. That’s not limited to women picking up the microphone but also in terms production, DJs and promoting. The documentary is just over an hour-long and there are in-depth discussions with Bobbie JohnsonGenie MarieHolly Flo LightlyJaz KahinaMINXOracy, SeraphimShay D and TrueMendous. It’s a fascinating topic that needs to be discussed openly in the hope that more ladies feel that they are welcomed into the culture with open arms. Watch the whole thing below and let us know if ARTEMIS answers its own question. Directed by Oliver Whitehouse & Produced by Laura Green.
