It’s a year and a day since the duo of Killer Mike and El-P released their second album as Run The Jewels; aptly named Run The Jewels 2. The pair have been touring worldwide since then performing songs from their self-titled debut and RTJ2. RTJ, and RTJ2 even more so, reinvigorated rap music for us and hopefully encourages other artists to step their game up too. The popularity of their music has been truly astounding and they’ve had sold-out shows all across the globe; we were lucky enough to see them at Outlook Festival in early september and they just finished a 14 month tour in Detroit. Since the release of RTJ2, the famous Run The Jewels logo and various adaptations of it have appears on Marvel comic book covers and immortalised in some incredible graffiti while Meow The Jewels is now officially available for download (very soon on vinyl). To celebrate such an incredible year for the pair, they have released an incredible music video for Angel Duster (directed/edited by Ryosuke Tanzawa) consisting of their time spent on various stages around the world; it’s like sort of like video diary in a way. Blind and you’ll miss them but the video features Big Boi, Bun B, Travis Barker and Zach De La Rocha. Watch it below and let us know what you think of their music, success and the video itself below.
